Joining Complete Savings

The Complete Savings programme is offered by many online retailers. You or someone you authorised to use your credit or debit card would have signed up to join the programme after making an online purchase.

A text banner would have appeared on the confirmation page after you made your purchase, offering you the opportunity to claim £10 cashback on your next purchase at the retailer’s website if you join the programme.

After clicking on this banner, you would have been taken to the Complete Savings registration page. In order to have signed up, you would have entered your name, email and postal address, and credit or debit card details into the Complete Savings registration page. You also would have created and verified a password and clicked ‘Yes’ to agree to our membership terms.

All new members are sent a welcome email to confirm that their account has been created, and also to let them know they can start benefiting from the programme straight away. On the registration page and in the welcome email we let you know that membership is free for the first 30 days so you can try the programme out, and after that it’s only £10 per month. You can cancel your membership at any time.

Have a look at the great savings you could make today: www.completesavings.co.uk

  • Hi,

I cant believe that everyone including myself are in the same boat, this is completely underhand and certainly not clear at any point, I have never had any emails so my only conclusion is that this must be one big fraudulent scam, the fact that you have the same auto response on most of these topics speaks volumes.
I would like my 'account' cancelled and a full refund, if this is not actioned immediately I will be taking this further.

    Kay

This is the numbers that have came up on my account, I assume you can use this to action the above

    • Hello Cleo,

Thank you for your comment, and for providing your membership number. I can confirm that your membership has now been cancelled, and you will soon receive email confirmation.

I will also send you a detailed email about your membership.

I would like to assure you that there is no way of creating a membership without manually entering your personal information, including your credit or debit card details. I can also confirm that a total of five emails are sent within the first 30 days, one including a billing reminder, and after that members are sent a monthly benefit reminder email. If you have not marked Complete Savings as a 'safe sender' then these may have ended up in your Junk mail.

I hope that this answers all of your questions, but if there is anything else please do not hesitate to ask.

      Kind regards

    • Hello Adam,

Thank you for your comment. I can confirm that your membership has now been cancelled, and you will shortly receive an email to confirm this. I have also asked for an email to be sent to you with full details about how and when you signed up.

I would like to assure you that there is no other way of creating a Complete Savings membership other than by manually entering your details on the sign-up page. It is mentioned at least four times that after 30 days you will be charged each month - hence why you provide your credit/debit card details at this stage.

I hope that this answers all of your questions, but if there is anything else, or if you do not receive the emails I have mentioned, please feel free to contact us on the details provided below.

  • I’m frustrated and angry
    Dear Complete Savings,

After looking through my credit card accounts (New Zealand) I have notice that approx. $20 (ten pounds)is going out from my account every month.

I would like to be informed how this happened as my wife and myself are totally unaware how your company got permission to do this?

We have no reason to use your company, nor as far as I am aware have ever used your company to purchase anything.

I would not only like my credit card details to be removed from your data base but also refund heaven knows how many $20+ you have taken from us. My records go back over 12 months so that is over 120 pounds.

    This is complete fraud!

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Regards

    Peter Harries

    • Hello Emma,

Thank you for your comment. I can confirm that we have now cancelled your membership and sent you email confirmation. We have processed your request in full.

I would like to reassure you that on the sign-up page that you manually completed when you joined the programme, there are at least four mentions of the monthly charge. On this page you provided the following: your name, your email address (entered twice), your postal address, a new password (entered twice) and your credit or debit card for the monthly fee. All members enjoy 30 days without charge, after which there is a monthly fee - this is also mentioned on emails to the member within the trial period. Members are free to cancel at any point.

I hope that this answers all of your questions, but if there is anything else please do not hesitate to contact us on the details provided below.

  • I'm another one to add to the list of people who has had no idea your'e taking £10 out of my account each month. Now after 6 months, I've become aware of it.

I've also seen a website www.complaintsboard.com which has numerous people complaining of this, unaware what they'd signed up for. Obviously you're application to join and confirmation email are not clear on what's happening for so many people to complain. Maybe it's legal, but it's definitely not honest.

In my own case, I can remember starting to fill the application in because it appeared I would get a straight refund of £10, then changing my mind once I saw it was on future online purchases because I don't live in the UK. I am fairly positive I didn't include my credit card number, but then you already had that from my payment to National Express. Either way, something's not right when you think you've backed out of the joining process and suddenly notice a surprise payment going out of your credit card.

I've already sent a complaint to National Express saying if I use their services again and see CompleteSavings anywhere in the payment process I will cancel the transaction and shop elsewhere.

I'll be calling your team tomorrow about this, and if I don't get a complete refund of the £60 I'll be contacting my credit card company to see if they can reclaim the money. I'll also be interested if you'll be able to send me a copy of the email sent out as confirmation of my joining. I'd like to see if there's a clear description of what was going to happen, if the email exists at all.

    Sara Frances.
    • Hello Sara,

Thank you for your comment. I can confirm that your membership has now been cancelled, and you have been sent email confirmation.

To confirm, the only way to create a membership is to manually enter the following details on the Complete Savings sign-up page: your name, your email address (entered twice), your postal address, a new password (entered twice) and your credit or debit card details for the monthly billing, which is mentioned at least four times on the page. I can confirm that this information can only be manually entered, and none of this information is passed from the website you made the purchase or booking on.

I will arrange for an email to be sent to you with full details of your sign-up.

Thank you for your comment. I can confirm that you have successfully cancelled your membership within the free 30 day period, so you have not been billed.

On the sign-up page that you completed, it is mentioned at least four times that following the free 30 day trial, you will pay £10 a month for your membership - hence why you enter your credit or debit card details at this stage.

  • Complete savings? Complete shite more like. You have fraudulently taken £10 from my account. Don't you dare reply by saying 'this information is manually entered, including your debit card details' because this is rubbish. I'm not stupid, and my memory is spot on. You have illegally taken payment from my account. I have never heard of this obviously illegal website.
Refund my money, cancel the fake membership and take me off your mailing list. This has already been raised with the complaints board, watchdog and my lawyer.

    • I will once again inform you that I did not enter my details, including my card details on this website. You stole them. I have never seen / heard of this website. You should hear from the consumer complaints lawyers shortly.
    • Hi Amanda,

Thank you for your comments. I can only repeat what we have already confirmed. The only way to create a membership is to enter your details on the sign-up page. We do not receive this information in any other format. When you saw the banner advertising a cashback reward after you made an online purchase, clicking on that will have taken you to the Complete Savings sign-up page (which sits on a separate site) where it is clear that in order to claim the cashback you have to become a member of Complete Savings, which is free for 30 days.

It is mentioned at least four times on the page that after the 30 days, you will be charged £10 per month for as long as you remain a member. The details required are: your name, your email address (entered twice), your postal address, a new password (entered twice) and your credit or debit card details for the monthly billing. Members are free to cancel at any point, so please respond to our email requesting more details and we will be happy to help.

We will also provide you with a screenshot of the sign-up page you completed, as well as the password you chose for your membership.

If you have any further questions please do email mary@completesavings.co.uk.

    • Hi Gregory - fantastic news. Thanks for your help! I hope many will see these posts before they are deleted. I will try my best to keep cut and pasting the same thing to warn others. I have been told from my lawyer TheTrainLine.co.uk supports this kind of cashback banner so they will be our next port for complaining.
To everyone else - please remember to cancel and block all future payments with your BANK, not just with the website direct as I will guarantee you will see a repeat.
    • Hello again Amanda,

We have received and replied to your email, and are waiting for you to respond with more details. We are keen to help you with your query but are unable to do so until you respond to our email.

With all the sites we work with, they have our banner on the confirmation page that customers see when they complete a purchase. Clicking on the banner as I have mentioned will take you to a separate site, the sign-up page for Complete Savings, where you can read about the programme and choose whether or not to create a membership by entering your details.

If you have not received our response, please email mary@completesavings.co.uk and we will be happy to help.

I've just visited www.complaintsboard.com. At no point did I fill in credit card details to join up for Complete Savings so I guess that you got my payment details from National Express.

I will be calling them shortly and looking at ways to recover the money.

In the meantime, remove me as a member and do not attempt to access my account.

  • Hello

I have no idea how you have got my account details, however i want my details removed from your database as soon as possible. i have contacted my bank, and explained the situation to them. This is completely ridiculous for a company to be conducting such fraudulent activities.

I have no idea how to get my membership no but my name is Ahmed Ali.
I would like my 10 pound back ASAP, and the membership to be completely cancelled.

    Thank you.
    • Hello Ahmed,

Thank you for your comment. I'm afraid we cannot locate a membership based on your name alone - could you please email mary@completesavings.co.uk and we will be happy to proceed with your request.

To confirm, the only way to create a membership is to manually enter the following details on the Complete Savings sign-up page: your name, your email address (twice), your postal address, a new password (twice) and your credit or debit card details for the monthly billing. By shopping through the Complete Savings programme you have access to over 650 online stores offering 10% cashback on your purchases. On top of this, you can claim a £10 monthly bonus and 20% off giftcards.

  • Complete Savings Team,
I have written you an email and been give the reference number 272961, so assume that I will receive a response to that shortly. However, I wanted to respond on here also in the hope this may speed things along.

It seems that somehow I have become signed up as a member to your service with the membership number 32166016007‏. Now, I have never signed up to this membership so would like my account terminated and the money that has been charged refunded.

Also, before I am given the stock response that the only way I could have signed up is to have clicked on a banner and manually entered all of my details, I would like to make it unequivocally clear that I have never done that. I suspect unethical behavior, however, if that is not the case and there has been some sort of mistake or misunderstanding, I trust that your team will rectify this. Again, please no stock response that I must of entered my details, because I did not, in fact almost all of the details in my account are incorrect, including an address I have never lived at, which is most certainly not the billing address for the card being charged.

If Complete Savings is an honest company then it needs to take a long hard look at its IT systems or something similar. One or two people who are certain that they never went through the extensive manual process which you say is the only way to become a member may be a mistaken, or forgetful perhaps, but this number of people surely are not all stupid, or all lying.

Now, please read my email, which I am told in an auto-response has been given the reference number 272961 carefully and review this situation. I expect my membership to be cancelled, all information deleted and a prompt refund. And I must reiterate, please do not reply with the stock response that Mary has been giving everyone else, as I did not fill in any form manually, or confirm my details (most of which are incorrect as they appear online). I am not a liar, stupid or forgetful, and so do hope that I will not be accused as such.

I believe I have made my complaint very clear and specific through this and my email complaint, and so eagerly await a satisfactory response.

    Yours expectantly,

  • Hi all,

I also wanted to report that complete savings took 8 membership fees (£10 each) from my account without any authorization.

when I have realized that they were regularly taking money from my account, I have contacted them and they emailed a refund claim form for me to fill to claim the money that was taken, which, in my view was a further waste of time as I had already reported the issue.

My solicitor suggested to forward all the info (emails included) to the online police for further investigation, which I did. I am now waiting for further developments.

I do not have any email whatsoever about signing up and now have two charges of £10 on my credit card. I very rarely use my credit card so would know if I had signed up to this. I have checked my email account and there are no emails from you. Can you cancel my membership immediately and offer me proof of my supposed signing up please. Outrageous.

    • Hello Arpuda,

Thank you for your comment. I can confirm that your membership has now been cancelled, and you will soon receive email confirmation.

I would like to reassure you that the only way to create a membership with Complete Savings is to enter your details in full on the sign-up page, including your name, email address and credit or debit card details for the monthly billing. It is made clear on the sign-up page that membership is free for 30 days, after which there is a monthly fee - hence why you are required to provide your credit/debit card details at this stage.

We send new members at least four emails in the first 30 days, including a reminder of the membership charge. We then send members a monthly email to remind them of the benefits they can access by logging in. I am sorry that you have not received any of our emails - please check your Junk email as they need to be marked as 'safe'.

Your membership has now been cancelled, but please do get in touch using the details below, or reply to our email, should you have any further questions.

      Kind regards

  • I’m Seeking revenge
I contacted complete save. I have never heard of them until I read my bank statement and found they had taken £10. I contacted them to find out who they were! They have no record of me or my husband ever having opened any account yet they have taken this money and will not give it back. Is that not illegal? They have not provided me with any service! I have contacted my bank. Cancelled my card. Contacted visa. Contacted watchdog and tomorrow will be contacting the police. This company is a scammer and should be exposed. I will be badgering BBC watchdog until they expose it. Julian Jackson the manager of complete save refused to refund my £10 today despite having absolutely no record of me and could offer no resolution to this problem. His other team member had the cheek to ask me for my card details and security pin! It is rubbish the post that is put here that you have to fill in the details to subscribe. It is an outright LIE as I and my husband, both intelligent professional people are educated enough to know we have no filled out any forms or subscribed to,this company. YOU HAVE TAKEN MONEY WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION. 5p or £10 you are a thief,
    • Hello Sue,
